XZENA on UBUNTU 13.10 |
Hi Everybody!
That's my first successful test of BGE based game XZENA on Ubuntu. Originally the game was made for Windows. But this autumn I'd decided to prepare the Linux version. I've got some curious and unexpected results (atleast for me)
prehistory
I'd been working with Blender Game Engine from 2007 until 2010. For 3 years I'd started several projects like DiStrakt & Skidrules & released several versions. DiStrakt was the first project originally based on BGE 2.46, DiStrakt still could be found on distrakt.org (the old website conserved) - that's the multitexture (not GLSL game). Skidrules came next & the first version was based on BGE 2.47 and was multitexture too, it had champ version with web-site table of results. In 2010 Skidrules 2 was released as "Skidrules. XZENA Series" first and then the game was converted to "Skidrules. Saab 91 game" released together with Saab 91 petition & support group.
XZENA
XZENA now is the same XZENA of 2010 with minor changes made to be run on Ubuntu. So after 3 years I continue the BGE line using the experience I got in Unity3d.
DISTRAKT
The car you could see on the screenshot is SVC Gorby, fantasy one taken from Distrakt. Why? Because I want to revive the game. I have a lot of content made for it. And what's much more important I have the game's story. I've just revised all I have and formed the new idea for the project.
If you're interested you could see some distrakt ideas right now on conserved website.
Motivation.
For now I have rather big motivation to relaunch the project and work in game dev again. The first and most important reason is... I just love BGE and missed it during all these days from 2010...
Well let's see what we'll have next!
